I’m Monika, a wedding photographer in Murcia

Congratulations on your engagement. I’m Monika and I photograph weddings and elopements in Murcia, along the Costa Cálida coastline and all across Spain. Murcia has a unique atmosphere – the historic centre around the cathedral, narrow streets and squares, the promenade along the Segura River, lush green parks, and both mountains and the sea within easy reach.

In the morning the city feels calm and gentle, during the day it’s vibrant and full of light, and in the evening everything quiets down into a soft golden hour – that’s when the kind of photographs are created that you’ll keep coming back to for years.

Wedding photographer since 2017 – over 100 weddings documented.
I help couples feel comfortable in front of the camera and enjoy their day.
My work is often described as natural, timeless and calm.

Why choose me as your wedding photographer in Murcia

Murcia wedding photographer Monika

As your wedding photographer, I’m with you almost the entire day – during the getting ready, the ceremony, the short couple session and the evening party. Up close I see the nerves before the ceremony, the relief after you say “I do”, hugs with your family, spontaneous laughter and all the little details you might not even notice yourselves.

That’s exactly why it’s so important to me that you feel relaxed and safe with me – that I don’t add any unnecessary stress, that I can adapt to last-minute changes in the timeline, and that I’m there to support you whenever you need it.

  • I mostly shoot in a documentary way – I let your day unfold naturally and capture what is truly happening.
  • During the key moments (the ceremony, vows, speeches, first dance) I interfere as little as possible, so you can experience them fully.

  • For couple portraits, the goal is not “fashion model poses”, but natural, genuine moments between the two of you.

  • I adapt the timing of the photos to your wedding day schedule, not the other way around – so you can spend as much time as possible with your guests.

  • Before the wedding, we go through the locations, light and flow of the day together, so nothing takes you by surprise on the day itself.

You enjoy your day with the people you love – and I’ll make sure your photos are full of emotions, tiny details and the atmosphere of Murcia and the whole region.

I’m a wedding photographer in Murcia

Murcia wedding photographer Monika

I photograph weddings in cities, gardens, the countryside and on the beach. I love when a single day connects several different settings – getting ready in the centre of Murcia in the morning, a ceremony in a garden or small chapel, a short couple session at sunset and an evening celebration under string lights.

If you’re planning a destination wedding in Murcia, I’m happy to help with the practical side too – we can go through possible locations, choose the best time for a short couple session and set up a timeline so that photography doesn’t disrupt the flow of your day, but fits into it naturally.

Wedding venues in Murcia

For portraits, we can use the area around the cathedral and Plaza Cardenal Belluga, the Paseo del Malecón promenade, the bridges over the Segura River or parks such as Jardín de Floridablanca – depending on what feels closer to your style and how your timeline looks.

Region of Murcia – fincas, vineyards and the Costa Cálida

Just a short drive out of the city and you’ll find yourself in a completely different setting – gardens surrounded by palm and citrus trees, vineyards, olive groves, hills and mountains. Across the Murcia region you’ll find a number of fincas and countryside venues where you can have the whole day (or even the whole weekend) just for yourselves.

For inspiration, you can look at places like Finca Buenavista, Finca El Jardín or Finca El Bosco – spacious estates with gardens, reception halls and facilities for both a civil ceremony and the party. There are also smaller, very personal spaces that are perfect for intimate weddings.

If you’re dreaming of a wedding by the sea, the Costa Cálida coastline offers locations around the Mar Menor lagoon and resorts such as La Manga Club, La Manga, Mazarrón or Águilas – from quieter beaches to livelier seaside towns. La Manga Club

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

“We could not have chosen a better photographer for our wedding! Monika is very professional and will make sure every important moment is captured in a very candid, not forced and non-invasive way. She went with the flow of our (sometimes chaotic) wedding and effortlessly adjusted to our needs/timing as was needed.
On a personal level, she is very sweet and curious, shows interest in you as a couple and your story, as well as your guests and the traditions you choose to include.
Since the beginning, we got a good impression of her and her work from her fast responses to our emails, through the cosy pre-wedding meeting, her dedication at the wedding and now to when we got the final pictures, she exceeded our expectations. 🙂 We strongly recommend her and would choose her again in a heartbeat. <3 Thank you again, Adela and Peter”

I’m Monika – a wedding photographer in Murcia and across Spain

Murcia wedding photographer Monika

I’m Monika, and if you’re planning a wedding or elopement in Murcia, somewhere along the Costa Cálida, or anywhere in Europe, I’d love to be there with you. I mostly work with couples who want their photos to feel natural, personal and full of atmosphere – so that when they look through their gallery, they can feel everything they experienced on the day all over again.

Most of the time I stay in the background – watching the small moments, your family’s reactions, the gestures between the two of you and everything happening around you. But when it’s needed, I’m practical and specific: I help organise group photos, suggest where to stand for the best light, or when to take a short moment just for the two of you.

I edit my photos in a clean, timeless way – without heavy filters that might feel dated in a few years. I keep the colours close to reality, so your gallery is easy and pleasant to look through even after a long time. Before the wedding, we go through your timeline, priorities and location options together – whether you’re dreaming of a wedding in Murcia’s historic centre, by the sea, or at a countryside finca surrounded by gardens.

I want you to feel that the photography is completely taken care of, and that I’m there as your support – not just another task on your to-do list.

How I photograph weddings in Murcia

Newlyweds hugging in a courtyard on their Murcia wedding day

Murcia has many different faces that can be beautifully connected within a single day – historic alleyways, parks and gardens, surrounding orchards and mountains, and even the sea if you decide to head to the coast. I usually combine a documentary approach with a shorter couple session at the time when the light is at its best.

This is what a typical day looks like from my perspective:

  • Getting ready – I quietly photograph the details, outfits, the atmosphere in the room and moments with your closest family and friends.

  • Ceremony – I capture the flow of the ceremony as it happens, from the arrival to the congratulations, including all the small reactions from your guests.

  • Group photos – I help organise and arrange the groups so everything runs smoothly and no one has to wait too long.

  • Couple portraits – we plan them according to the light and your timeline; it can be in the centre of Murcia, in the venue’s garden or by the sea at sunset.

  • Evening celebration – I photograph it in a way that lets you feel the light, music and energy of the evening in your photos, not just “mandatory” dance floor shots.

When I edit, I aim for the whole gallery to feel like one coherent story – from the morning nerves, through the ceremony, all the way to the last song of the night.

How the process works

Whether you’re organising your wedding from the other side of Europe or from a neighbourhood right in Murcia, I want the whole process to feel easy, relaxed and transparent.

  1. First message
Send me a short message with your wedding date, ceremony and reception location (Murcia / region / coast), an approximate number of guests and a few lines about the feel of your day. If you’re considering a pre-wedding or engagement session, add that as well.
  2. Online call
We’ll arrange a brief video call to talk through the style of your wedding, your timeline, priorities and any questions you might have. We can also go over specific venues and locations you’re thinking about.
  3. Tailored coverage & quote
I’ll suggest how many hours of photography are realistic for your plans, recommend the best time for couple portraits and send you a clear, detailed offer so you know exactly what’s included.
  4. Securing your date
If it feels like a good match on both sides, I’ll send over a contract and details for the booking retainer. Once the retainer is paid, your date is officially reserved.
  5. Before the wedding
A few weeks before the big day we’ll fine-tune the final schedule, addresses, key people and a list of family and group photos. This is also the moment to mention any traditions or moments that are especially important to you.
  6. Wedding day in Murcia
You enjoy the day with your favourite people – I take care of the light, timing and all the small in-between moments. You don’t need to think about the camera or settings; I’m there to document everything without interrupting the flow of your celebration.
  7. Photo delivery
Soon after the wedding you’ll receive a small preview – a handful of highlight images to relive the day straight away. The complete edited gallery will follow online, ready to view, share with loved ones and turn into prints or albums.
