I’m Monika, a wedding photographer in Barcelona
Hi, congratulations on your engagement. I’m Monika, a wedding and elopement photographer in Barcelona, and I create images that are both natural and timeless. The sea, Gaudí’s architecture, narrow streets and Mediterranean light turn your day into a unique story you’ll be able to relive through your photos for many years to come.
Wedding photographer since 2017 – over 100 weddings documented.
I help couples feel comfortable in front of the camera and enjoy their day.
My work is often described as natural, timeless and calm.

Why choose me as your Barcelona wedding photographer

Choosing a wedding photographer is not just about whether you like their portfolio or not. You need someone who’s a good personal fit, can handle emotions and time pressure, and won’t spend the whole day forcing you into unnatural poses.
- I shoot in a documentary style – I’m not a director, but a quiet observer who captures what truly matters.
- I interfere as little as possible with key moments (ceremony, speeches, first dance) so they stay authentic.
- During couple portraits I gently guide you, but always leave space for your personalities.
- I adapt the photography to your wedding day timeline so it doesn’t disrupt the flow of the day.
- Beforehand, we go through your ideas, locations and timing so we can make the most of the best light.
I want you to focus on each other on your wedding day – I’ll take care of all the important moments in your photos.

I’m a wedding photographer

I’m Monika, a wedding photographer who loves travelling across Europe for you – from Barcelona and Tuscany to intimate mountain weddings in the Alps. I love connecting the place, the light and the story of two people, whether your ceremony is on a cliff above the sea, in a city palace or in a small village chapel.
My style is natural and mostly documentary – I focus on emotions, the atmosphere of the day and the relationships between you and your loved ones. I’ll help you plan your destination wedding photography, choose locations and timing so you can simply enjoy your day and relive it through your images for many years to come.
Wedding venues in Barcelona
Barcelona – city centre, rooftops and city palaces
In the heart of Barcelona you can have your wedding just a few steps from the sea and the historic centre. Hotel Arts Barcelona by Barceloneta beach offers a terrace with sea views and modern facilities for larger weddings. The rooftops of El Palace Hotel or Mandarin Oriental on Passeig de Gràcia have pools, gardens and views over the whole city – ideal for more intimate ceremonies and open-air dinners. Serras Hotel Barcelona near the Port Vell marina combines a terrace overlooking the boats with excellent gastronomy, while still being close to the Gothic Quarter.
Around Barcelona – masias, castles and the coast
Just outside Barcelona you’ll find a completely different atmosphere. Castell de Sant Marçal is a fairy-tale castle about 20 minutes from the city centre, with French-style gardens, fountains and enough space even for larger weddings. Masia Casa del Mar stands on a clifftop by the sea near Sitges – a white villa with a pool, garden and terrace directly above the Mediterranean. Gran Villa Rosa combines a 15th-century historic villa, vineyards and several courtyards, making it perfect for a multi-day wedding celebration. For calmer, rustic weddings there is Masía Can Parès, hidden in the woods near Sitges, with a large garden, pool and accommodation for your guests.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
“I’ve had many photo sessions with Monika – first on my own as portraits and later as a couple. She was our first and only choice for our wedding day and she absolutely lived up to our expectations.
The meeting before the wedding, where we discussed everything, and the pre-wedding shoot meant that on the day itself she blended in perfectly and you hardly even notice she’s taking photos. We received the final photos quickly and they are absolutely beautiful.
Monika has a real talent for capturing the beauty in everyone, the tenderness of each moment and, above all, the emotions. Next time we need a photographer, our choice will be clear once again.”

I’m Monika – a wedding photographer in Barcelona and across Europe

I’m Monika, a wedding photographer, and congratulations on your engagement. I most often work with couples who are planning their dream wedding or elopement in Barcelona and across Europe – by the sea, in the city, among vineyards or in the mountains. I love finding places and light that feel like you, and turning your day into a story you’ll want to come back to again and again.
On your wedding day I’m with you from getting ready until the evening party. Most of the time I stay in the background and let things unfold naturally – I capture emotions, little moments between you and your loved ones, and the atmosphere of Barcelona around you, not just posed shots. When needed, I’ll help organise family photos, suggest where to stand for the best light or how to create your own little “bubble of calm” in the middle of a busy city.
I edit your photos in a clean, timeless way, with colours close to reality, so that years from now they still feel like the day it all happened. Before the wedding we’ll go through your timeline, wishes and location options – whether you’re planning an intimate rooftop ceremony in Barcelona, a seaside wedding on the Costa Brava or a weekend celebration elsewhere in Europe. I want you to feel that your photos are fully taken care of and that I’m on your side – a calm support, not another source of stress.
How I photograph weddings in Barcelona

Barcelona offers three main “worlds” I love to work with: the city, the sea, and the nature/vineyards in the surrounding area. On wedding days I usually combine a documentary approach with a shorter couple session.
During the day:
in the morning and during getting ready I photograph discreetly, capturing details, emotions, and moments with family and friends
I document the ceremony as it unfolds – tears, laughter, little glances, the reactions of your parents and witnesses
for group photos I’ll help with organising everyone, so it’s quick and efficient
we plan the couple session around the light – in the city or by the sea, in the morning or towards sunset
I photograph the party so you can feel how much fun you had, not just “everyone lined up for a picture”
In terms of style, I love clean, timeless colours. I edit your photos to look natural and long-lasting – without extreme filters that will feel dated in a few years. The whole gallery fits together as one coherent visual story of your day.
How the process works

Most couples plan their wedding in Barcelona from abroad, so I try to keep everything as simple and clear as possible.
- First contact
Send me your wedding date, venue, approximate number of guests and a brief idea of how you’re planning your day. I’d also love to know if you’re considering a pre-wedding session. - Online call
We’ll schedule a short video call to talk through your vision, wedding style, timeline and photo options. We can also look at specific locations where you like the vibe of the photos. - Coverage & quote
Based on the information you share, I’ll suggest the ideal length of coverage, recommend the best time for couple portraits and send you a clear quote. Everything is written out so you know exactly what you’ll get. - Booking your date
Once we agree on the details, I’ll send over a contract and booking terms. After the booking fee is paid, your date is fully reserved. - Preparing before the wedding
Before the wedding we’ll go over the schedule one more time, addresses, contacts and any specific requests (family photos, important details, traditions). - Your wedding day in Barcelona
On the day itself you focus on each other and your guests. I keep an eye on the light, moments and flow of the photography so it doesn’t interrupt your plans, but still captures everything important. - Delivery of your photos
Shortly after the wedding you’ll receive a small preview of the key moments. The full online gallery with all selected and edited photos will follow afterwards.
