I’m Monika, a wedding photographer in Córdoba

I’m Monika and I photograph weddings and elopements in Córdoba, throughout Andalusia and across the rest of Spain. Córdoba has such a unique atmosphere – the forest of columns inside the Mezquita, the narrow streets of the Judería, flower-filled courtyards, the Roman bridge over the Guadalquivir, and the parks and gardens surrounding the historic centre.

In the morning the city is calm and quiet, during the day it’s filled with light, and in the evening it turns golden and orange over the river and rooftops. That’s often when we create the images you’ll keep coming back to for years – gentle, personal and full of atmosphere.

Wedding photographer since 2017 – over 100 weddings documented.
I help couples feel comfortable in front of the camera and enjoy their day.
My work is often described as natural, timeless and calm.

Why choose me as your wedding photographer in Córdoba

Cordoba wedding photographer Monika

On your wedding day I’m with you in the moments no one else is really there for – when you’re doing up your dress in a small room overlooking the patio, in the quiet just before you walk in for the ceremony, in that first relieved exhale after you say ‘I do’, during the little jokes at the table, and late at night when you walk back across a flower-scented courtyard from the dance floor.

I notice how tension, joy, emotion and simple calm take turns throughout the day, how the light in the city changes around you. To be able to capture all of this, I need you to feel safe and at ease with me. I’m not there to turn you into someone else or push you into poses that don’t feel like you. My role is to create a safe, clear framework – so you know what’s happening and can focus on yourselves and the people who matter most.

  • I photograph mainly in a documentary way – I follow what’s happening rather than staging the day
  • I only step in during key moments (ceremony, vows, speeches, first dance) when it’s really necessary – these moments belong to you first and foremost
  • during couple portraits I give you simple, easy-to-follow prompts, but what matters most to me is your connection, your gestures and how you feel together, not a ‘perfect’ magazine pose
  • we adapt the timing of the photos to your schedule – the goal is for you to spend as much time as possible with your guests, not disappear from your own wedding for an hour
  • before the wedding we’ll go through locations, light and a rough timeline so that nothing on the day takes you by surprise

You enjoy the day with the people you love – I make sure that the story of your day and the atmosphere of Córdoba stay in your photos.

I’m a wedding photographer in Córdoba

Cordoba wedding photographer Monika

I photograph weddings right in the historic centre, in boutique hotels with inner patios, in the gardens near the Alcázar, in countryside haciendas and cortijos just outside the city, and at smaller weddings in the Sierra Morena hills. I love wedding days where the setting changes naturally – morning preparations in the narrow streets near the Mezquita, a ceremony in a garden or a hall overlooking a courtyard, a short couple session by the river or at a viewpoint above the city, and an evening party under string lights.

I’m not aiming for a handful of ‘postcard’ shots with the Mezquita in the background. I want your gallery to reflect what your day really felt like – who came to be with you, how you talk and laugh together, what the music, light and evening energy were like. If you’re planning a destination wedding in Córdoba, I’m happy to help with the practical side too – we’ll go through how long it makes sense to have photography, when to take a moment for couple portraits and how to weave the photo sessions naturally into your day.

Weddings in Córdoba – Mezquita, old town and Andalusian patios

Córdoba is a compact city where you can move between different settings in a single day without spending hours in the car. Around the Mezquita-Catedral and squares such as Plaza del Triunfo or Plaza de la Corredera you’ll find narrow streets, cafés and intimate plazas – perfect for a short pre-wedding walk or a couple session between the ceremony and the reception.

The Judería district is full of whitewashed houses, wrought-iron balconies and flower pots on the walls, while the banks of the Guadalquivir offer a riverside promenade and views of the Roman bridge (Puente Romano). A quick stop by the river can be a beautiful contrast to the shade of a patio or garden.

Gardens and parks around the historic centre – including green areas near the Alcázar and historic houses with their own patios – create quieter settings for ceremonies and evening receptions. They work especially well if you’re looking for a more intimate atmosphere than in the busiest streets of the old town.

Beyond Córdoba – cortijos, haciendas and olive groves

Just outside the city you’ll find countryside cortijos and haciendas surrounded by olive trees and rolling hills, where you can have the whole day or even an entire weekend just for yourselves and your guests. For inspiration, you can look at venues such as Cortijo Santa Rosa – a traditional estate with gardens, patios and indoor rooms for both the ceremony and the evening party – or similar countryside haciendas around Córdoba that combine outdoor spaces, shaded courtyards and reception halls.

We’ve just looked through the photos and they are perfect! Once again, thank you so much for the lovely experience during our pre-wedding shoot, for the smooth photography of our wedding day where you so discreetly captured all the important moments, for your helpfulness and patience, and also for the quick and amazing editing of the photos.

We’re really looking forward to having some of them printed and sharing them with our wedding guests too!

We’ll also be very happy if we get the chance to work with you again in the future, even if (hopefully) on a different occasion 🙂

I’m Monika – a wedding photographer in Córdoba, Andalusia and across Spain

Cordoba wedding photographer Monika

I’m Monika, and if you’re planning a wedding or elopement in Córdoba, anywhere in Andalusia or elsewhere in Spain, I’d be happy to be part of your day. I most often work with couples who are looking for photos that feel intimate, calm and full of a sense of place – historic streets, evening light over the city, gardens and flower-filled courtyards.

On a wedding day I spend most of the time in the background. I pay attention to the small moments – the looks you share when you think no one is watching, spontaneous laughter, hugs with family, and those quiet pauses when you sit down together away from everything for a moment.

When needed, I’m practical and specific: I help organise group photos, suggest where to stand for the best light, and plan a short window for couple portraits so that it fits naturally into your timeline. I edit your images in a clean, timeless way, without heavy filters that will feel dated in a few years. My aim is for the colours and atmosphere to reflect what your day really felt like.

How I photograph weddings in Córdoba

cordoba-wedding-couple-tasting-cake-outdoor-reception

Córdoba and its surroundings let you experience the city, views, river and greenery all in a single day. I usually combine a documentary approach with a shorter couple session at the softest light – early in the morning, late afternoon or at sunset.

What your day might look like from my perspective:

Getting ready – I quietly photograph details, dresses, suits, the atmosphere of your apartment or hotel room, and moments with your closest family and friends.
Ceremony – I capture arrivals, vows, the exchange of rings, your emotions and your guests’ reactions, congratulations and all the small moments happening around you.
Group photos – I help with the list of groups and the organisation so that everything runs smoothly and no one has to stand in line for too long.
Couple session – we plan it around the light and your timeline; it can take place in the old town, in the venue’s garden, by the river or at a viewpoint with Córdoba in the background.
Evening celebration – I photograph the dancing, speeches, little interactions between guests and the atmosphere of lights and music so that you can really feel the evening in your photos, not just see a few “obligatory” shots.

When I select and edit your images, I look at the whole day as one story – from the first sip of coffee in the morning to the moment the last guests head home.

How the process works

Many couples plan their wedding in Córdoba from a distance – from another city or even another country. That’s why I have a straightforward and predictable process.

  1. Initial message
Send me your wedding date, location of the ceremony and reception (Córdoba / surroundings), approximate guest count, and a few details about how you envision your day. If you’re considering engagement or elopement photos, feel free to mention that as well.
  2. Short online call
We’ll schedule a video call where we’ll go over your wedding style, timeline, priorities, and practical questions. We can also take a look at specific venues and locations you’re considering and discuss what makes sense to photograph at each point.
  3. Scope proposal and pricing
Based on your vision, I’ll recommend how many hours of photography makes sense, when to allocate time for couple photos, and how to align photography with your day’s schedule. Afterward, I’ll send a clear pricing proposal so you know exactly what’s included.
  4. Booking the date
If everything looks good, I’ll send the contract and details for the deposit. Once the deposit is paid, your date will be firmly booked in my calendar.
  5. Preparation before the wedding
A few weeks before the wedding, we’ll finalize the timeline, addresses, important names, and a list of group photos. This is also a good time to mention specific traditions or moments you want to make sure to capture.
  6. Wedding day in Córdoba
You focus on enjoying your day with your loved ones – I’ll take care of the lighting, timing, and flow of the photos. You won’t have to worry about technical details – I’m there to ensure that nothing important is missed, and the photography doesn’t disrupt the natural rhythm of your day.
  7. Gallery and photo delivery
Shortly after the wedding, I’ll send you a sneak peek – a few key photos as a first taste. Then I’ll deliver the entire edited gallery online, ready to share and print.
