Santa Cruz de Tenerife wedding photographer
I’m Monika, a wedding photographer in Santa Cruz de Tenerife
Congratulations on your engagement. I’m Monika and I photograph weddings and elopements in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, in the nearby towns and in other parts of Spain. Santa Cruz has a very different character from typical seaside resorts – the historic centre around Plaza de España, lively Calle La Noria with its bars and music, markets and arcades, the green Parque García Sanabria, the futuristic Auditorio de Tenerife by the ocean, plus promenades, the harbour and city parks right by the sea.
In the morning the city feels calm, with the first cafés opening and people heading to work, during the day it’s full of light and life, and in the evening everything softens into a gentle golden hour by the ocean – and that’s often when we create the photos you’ll want to come back to for years.
Wedding photographer since 2017 – over 100 weddings documented.
I help couples feel comfortable in front of the camera and enjoy their day.
My work is often described as natural, timeless and calm.

Why choose me as your wedding photographer in Santa Cruz de Tenerife

On your wedding day I’m with you even in the moments almost no one else sees – packing your suitcases in the apartment in the morning, nervously adjusting your dress just before the ceremony, that first deep breath after you say “yes”, the little jokes at the table, and the tired laughter late at night when you walk back from the dance floor.
I notice how your emotions shift throughout the day, how your family and friends move around you, how the light and atmosphere change – the sun above the ocean, reflections in the glass, the fairy lights and street lamps in the evening city.
To be able to capture all of this, I need you to be able to be yourselves with me. I won’t try to “reshape” you or push you into roles that don’t feel like you. My job is to create a calm, clear framework – so you know what’s going to happen, and you can focus on each other and your loved ones, not on the camera.
I photograph in a documentary style – I follow what’s happening instead of staging the day.
During the key moments (ceremony, vows, speeches, first dance) I step in only when it’s really necessary – these moments belong to you first of all.
For the couple session I give you simple, easy-to-follow prompts, but I care much more about your connection than about a “perfect” pose.
We’ll plan the exact time for photos around your schedule – I don’t want you spending half your day away from your guests.
Before the wedding we’ll go through the locations, light and a rough timeline together, so you know exactly when and where we’ll be shooting.
You enjoy the day with the people who matter most to you – and I’ll make sure your photos hold not just “pretty snapshots”, but the real story of your day and the atmosphere of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

I’m a wedding photographer in Santa Cruz de Tenerife

I photograph weddings in the city, in hotels, in parks, by the ocean and at countryside venues just outside town. I love weddings where the day naturally flows through different settings – getting ready in the centre, a ceremony in a garden or a room with a view, a short couple session by the ocean, and an evening party under string lights.
I’m not chasing “Instagram-perfect” shots. I want your gallery to reflect what your day was really like:
who came to celebrate with you
how you talk and laugh together
what the light, music, scents, colours and evening energy felt like
If you’re planning a wedding in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, I’ll be happy to help with the practical side too – we’ll look at how many hours of coverage make sense, when to set aside a moment for couple photos, and how to make the photography fit naturally into your day without interrupting the flow.
Weddings in Santa Cruz de Tenerife
Santa Cruz de Tenerife brings together the historic centre and the waterfront in one compact, walkable area. In the old town triangle between Calle La Noria and squares such as Plaza de España and Plaza de la Candelaria you’ll find traditional houses, small bars and lively streets – perfect for a short pre-wedding or couple session before the main celebration.
Along the water you have the striking Auditorio de Tenerife and the seafront pools of Parque Marítimo César Manrique – clean lines, palm trees and saltwater pools that create a very different mood to the old streets. For a bit of greenery and shade, Parque García Sanabria offers quiet paths, subtropical plants and sculptures right in the middle of the city.
For a city wedding, it often makes sense to choose a hotel or venue in central Santa Cruz where the ceremony, dinner and evening party can all happen in one place – guests can move around on foot, and most of the photos can be done nearby without long transfers.
Beyond Santa Cruz – rural fincas, vineyards and the north coast
The surroundings of Santa Cruz offer countryside fincas, vineyards and ocean views. Just a short drive between Santa Cruz and La Laguna you’ll find places like Finca Mac-Kay, a traditional Canarian estate with gardens and courtyards often used for weddings and events.
Further along the north of the island, venues such as Finca La Gañanía or wineries like Bodegas Monje offer terraces with views towards the Atlantic and Mount Teide. If you’re dreaming of wilder scenery for an elopement or day-after session, the viewpoints and trails of Anaga Rural Park combine laurel forests, cliffs and black-sand beaches on the north-east coast.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
“We asked Mona to photograph our wedding and we don’t regret it for a second. The photos beautifully capture not only the important moments, but especially the subtle, spontaneous ones that really created the atmosphere. Monika’s approach was wonderful – kind, natural, everything felt relaxed and at the same time very professional. Communication was great from the very beginning all the way to the delivery of the photos. We felt very comfortable with her, which was really important for us in front of the camera as people with no experience.
We would definitely recommend her to anyone who is looking not only for beautiful, natural photos, but also for a calm and genuinely human approach.
Thank you!”

I’m Monika – a wedding photographer in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and across Spain

I’m Monika, and if you’re planning a wedding or elopement in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, somewhere nearby or anywhere else in Spain, I’d be happy to be there with you. I mostly work with couples who want their photos to feel close, calm and full of the atmosphere of the place – the ocean, the light, the wind, the city around you.
On a wedding day I usually stay more in the background. I pay attention to the small situations and gestures – the glances when you think no one is watching, spontaneous laughter, hugs with family, and those quiet moments when you sit down together for a minute and just breathe.
When it’s needed, I’m practical and clear:
I’ll help organise the group photos
I’ll tell you where to stand for the best light
I’ll suggest a short window for couple portraits that fits naturally into your schedule
I edit my photos in a clean, timeless way – without strong filters that will feel dated in a few years. I try to keep the colours and atmosphere true to how the day really felt. Before the wedding we’ll go through your timeline, priorities and location options – whether you’re planning a city wedding, a garden celebration or an intimate ceremony by the ocean.
How I photograph weddings in Santa Cruz de Tenerife

Santa Cruz and its surroundings offer a lot of variety in a single day – city streets, parks, bold architecture by the ocean and quieter spots just outside town. I usually combine a documentary approach with a shorter couple session at the time when the light feels most beautiful.
What your day might look like from my perspective:
Getting ready – I calmly photograph details, dresses, suits, the atmosphere in your apartment or hotel room, and moments with your closest family and friends.
Ceremony – I capture arrivals, vows, the exchange of rings, guests’ reactions and congratulations as they naturally unfold.
Group photos – I help with the group list and the organisation so that everything goes quickly and no one has to stand in line for too long.
Couple session – we plan it around the light and your timeline; it can take place in the historic centre, in a park, by the ocean or in the venue’s garden.
Evening celebration – I photograph the dancing, speeches, little moments between your guests and the feel of the lights and music, so the whole evening comes through in the photos, not just a few “mandatory” shots.
When I select and edit your photos, I look at the whole day as one complete story – from the first coffee in the morning to the last song at night. I don’t want just a few pretty portraits, but a gallery that will still make sense ten years from now.
How the process works

Many couples plan their wedding in Santa Cruz de Tenerife from abroad, often from a completely different country. That’s why I try to keep the whole process clear and as simple as possible.
1. First message
Send me your wedding date, ceremony and reception location (Santa Cruz de Tenerife / nearby), an approximate guest count and a few sentences about how you imagine your day. If you’re considering a pre-wedding / engagement session or an elopement, please mention it in your message as well.
2. Short online call
We’ll schedule a short video call to talk through the style of your wedding, the timeline, your priorities and any practical questions. We can look at the specific venues and places you’re considering and discuss what makes sense to photograph when.
3. Coverage proposal and quote
Based on your plans I’ll recommend how many hours of photography make sense, when to set aside time for couple portraits and how to fit everything into your schedule. Then I’ll send you a clear pricing proposal, so you know exactly what is included.
4. Booking your date
If working together feels right, I’ll send over a contract and details for the booking retainer. Once the retainer is paid, your date is firmly reserved in my calendar.
5. Preparing for the wedding
A few weeks before the wedding we’ll fine-tune the final timeline, addresses, important names and a list of groups for family and group photos. This is also the perfect moment to mention any specific traditions or moments you definitely want captured.
6. Wedding day in Santa Cruz de Tenerife
You focus on each other and your guests – I’ll take care of the light, timing and flow of the photography. You don’t need to worry about the technical side; I’m there to make sure nothing important is missed and that the photos don’t disturb the atmosphere of the day.
7. Gallery and delivery of your photos
Shortly after the wedding I’ll send you a small preview – a handful of key images as a first taste. Your full edited gallery will then be delivered online, ready to view, share and print.
