I’m Monika, a wedding photographer in Valencia

Congratulations on your engagement. I’m Monika and I photograph weddings and elopements in Valencia and across Spain. Valencia has a very unique atmosphere – it’s a mix of the sea, the historic old town, orange trees, modern architecture and the evening light reflecting off the façades and the water. In the morning the city feels lively, in the afternoon intense, and by evening everything softens – and it’s exactly in those moments that the kind of photos are created that you’ll love coming back to for years.

Wedding photographer since 2017 – over 100 weddings documented.
I help couples feel comfortable in front of the camera and enjoy their day.
My work is often described as natural, timeless and calm.

Why choose me as your wedding photographer in Valencia

Valencia wedding photographer Monika – portrait in natural light

Your wedding photographer is someone who spends almost the whole day with you – during the getting ready, the ceremony, your short couple session and the evening party. They see your emotions from very close up: the nerves before the ceremony, the relief after you say “I do”, tears of joy, spontaneous laughter and all the little touches you might not even notice yourselves.

Because they are that close, it’s important that you feel relaxed around them – that they stay calm even when plans change, can adapt quickly and support you without overwhelming you with instructions.

  • I photograph in a mostly documentary way – I let the day unfold and capture what actually happens.
  • I let the key parts of the day (the ceremony, vows, speeches, first dance) flow naturally without interfering.
  • During your couple session I’ll give you just enough gentle direction so you feel comfortable, but I’m not aiming for “model poses” – I care much more about you feeling relaxed together.
  • I build the photography timeline around your plans, not the other way around – so you can spend as much time with your guests as possible.
  • Before the wedding we’ll go through locations, light and timing together, so nothing on the day takes you by surprise.

You enjoy your day with your loved ones – I’ll make sure your photos are full of emotion, little details and the atmosphere of Valencia.

I’m a wedding photographer in Valencia

Valencia wedding photographer Monika – portrait in natural light

I photograph weddings in cities, by the sea, in vineyards, in the mountains and intimate two-person ceremonies. I’m not chasing the “perfect shot for social media” – I want your gallery to feel like your day: the people you invited, the nerves before the ceremony, the relaxed dinner, a quiet moment just for you two and the energy of the evening.

If you’re planning a destination wedding in Valencia, I can help with the practical side too: suggest locations, recommend the best time for a short couple session and fit everything into your schedule so the photography doesn’t disturb the flow of the day, but becomes a natural part of it.

Wedding venues in Valencia

Valencia – historic centre, beach and modern hotels

Valencia offers a great mix of old town charm, the sea and modern architecture. If you’d like your wedding close to the centre or right by the beach, it often makes sense to choose a hotel or venue where you can have the ceremony, reception and evening party all in one place – with plenty of options around for photos.

For inspiration, take a look at Hotel Balneario Las Arenas – a five-star resort right on Las Arenas beach, with gardens, terraces and sea views, where you can host outdoor civil ceremonies as well as elegant indoor receptions.

The surroundings of Valencia – fincas, masias and nature

Just a short drive out of the city and the scenery changes completely – instead of busy streets you’ll find masias surrounded by gardens, olive trees or orange groves, with enough space for a full-day or even weekend wedding celebration.

One example is Masía Aldamar a historic finca surrounded by citrus orchards, designed specifically for weddings and events – with its own garden, guest facilities and separate spaces for the ceremony and reception.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

“We asked Mona to photograph our wedding and we don’t regret it for a second. The photos beautifully capture not only the important moments, but especially the subtle, spontaneous ones that really created the atmosphere. Monika’s approach was wonderful – kind, natural, everything felt relaxed and at the same time very professional. Communication was great from the very beginning all the way to the delivery of the photos. We felt very comfortable with her, which was really important for us in front of the camera as people with no experience.

We would definitely recommend her to anyone who is looking not only for beautiful, natural photos, but also for a calm and genuinely human approach.
Thank you!”

I’m Monika – a wedding photographer in Valencia, across Spain and throughout Europe

Valencia wedding photographer Monika – portrait in natural light

I’m Monika, and if you’re planning a wedding or elopement in Valencia, somewhere along the Spanish coast or anywhere in Europe, I’d love to be there with you. I usually work with couples who want their photos to feel natural, personal and full of atmosphere – so that when they look through their gallery, they can come back to how they truly felt on the day.

On your wedding day I’m with you from the morning preparations until the evening celebration. Most of the time I stay quietly in the background and let things unfold – I notice small situations, your family’s reactions, little gestures between the two of you and everything happening around you. When it’s needed, I’m also practical and specific: I’ll help organise family group photos, suggest where to stand for good light, or when to take a short moment just for yourselves.

I edit your photos to be clean and timeless – without heavy filters that will quickly go out of style. I keep the colours close to reality, so your gallery still feels natural and easy to look through even many years from now. Before the wedding we’ll go through your timeline, priorities and location options – whether you’re dreaming of a rooftop ceremony with city views, a wedding by the sea or a celebration at a masia just outside Valencia. I want you to feel that your photography is in good hands and that I’m there as support, not just another thing you have to worry about.

How I photograph weddings in Valencia

Intimate indoor couple portrait – Valencia destination wedding

Valencia has many different faces that can all come together beautifully in one wedding day – historic streets, the beach and promenade, modern architecture and greenery just outside the city. I usually combine a documentary approach with a shorter couple session at the time of day when the light is at its best.

What a typical day looks like from my side:

  • during the getting ready I photograph quietly – details, outfits, emotions and interactions with your closest people

  • I capture the ceremony as it naturally unfolds – tears, laughter, touches, your family’s and friends’ reactions

  • for group photos I help with the organisation so everything goes smoothly and without endless waiting

  • we plan the couple portraits around the light – it can be in the city centre, on the beach or towards the evening in a calmer part of town

  • in the evening I photograph the celebration so you can really feel the atmosphere, music and energy in the photos, not just see “obligatory” poses on the dance floor

When editing, I keep the photos visually consistent and timeless. The whole gallery is meant to feel like one story – from the morning preparations, through the ceremony, all the way to the last song.

How the process works

Top Valencia wedding photographer
Most couples plan their wedding in Valencia from a distance, so I try to keep the whole process simple, clear and without unnecessary steps.

  1. First message
Send me your wedding date, ceremony and reception location (Valencia / surroundings), approximate guest count and a short description of how you imagine your day. You can also mention if you’re thinking about a pre-wedding / engagement session.
  2. Online call
We’ll schedule a short online call to go through the style of your wedding, the timeline, your priorities and any questions you might have. We can also look at specific locations you like.
  3. Coverage proposal & quote
I’ll recommend how many hours of coverage make sense, suggest the best time for couple photos and send you a clear quote – so you know exactly what’s included.
  4. Booking your date
If everything feels right, I’ll send over a contract and details for the booking retainer. Once it’s paid, your date is firmly reserved.
  5. Before the wedding
Shortly before the wedding we’ll go through the final timeline, addresses, important names and group photo combinations, plus any specific traditions or moments you don’t want to miss.
  6. Wedding day in Valencia
You focus on each other and your guests; I take care of the light, moments and the flow of the photography. You don’t have to think about technical things – I’m there to make sure nothing important is missed, and that the photos don’t slow down your day.
  7. Delivery of your photos
Shortly after the wedding I’ll send you a small preview with the key moments as a little taste of what’s coming. The full edited gallery will follow online, ready for sharing and printing.
